I think Being There is a great movie, one of the best, with great actors, great music, great scenery and an eye for detail as well. The attempts to find out Chancy's background, what he represents or who, are similar to those related to controversial whistleblowers who disclose highly secretive agendas and their designers and the organization of espionage.

In Being There, the character of Chauncey Gardiner, a.k.a Chance the Gardner (Pete Sellers) ends up starting all over after the death of his employer. The viewer is getting a glimpse into Chance’s persona when a coworker tells him of his employer’s passing.
